During today's maintenance (9am Thursday UTC/5am Thursday US ET) the server will remain offline for up to 90 minutes while we perform maintenance.
Note that during this time, we will be doing another batch of Steam account migrations. If you are still waiting on your account to be migrated, please double check that you have provided the correct details, which include the EXISTING account ID and the NEW account ID to move your characters to.
We are unable to migrate you if you do not provide the correct details. After this maintenance, any grandfathered Steam accounts that were able to play on our server will no longer be able to connect. This is a vital step to move forward with our other client-related projects and we cannot wait any longer.
This doesn't mean you won't still be able to transfer any Steam accounts if you missed the boat - please visit https://shardsofbritannia.com/play and make sure you fill out the form and we will do what we can to cater for your request in the future.

Britain Moat Fishing: We have fixed the issue with not obtaining uncommon items and tokens from the Britain Moat. Please be aware, it is against the rules to use multiple characters to fish at the same time & you should not be using a Young character for Moat Fishing (this will be patched out soon)
Recently we identified and resolved an issue with Rental Properties. Specifically, if you rented a property and the rent expired from not paying, you probably received notice that your rental property belongings have been packed up and can be retrieved from the Account Vault. If you had a rental property prior to March 3rd, 2023 and the items from your rental were not recoverable, your items may still be stored and can be retrieved by staff. If you had this happen, please contact us for assistance and we will do our best to try to recover your items.
It is intended for all characters to be able to enter, traverse and hang out in towns no matter their notoriety state. To be clear, murderers are allowed to enter protected towns and hangout, but they are unable to use any vendors in town, and they are subject to being attacked by anyone as well as being Guard whacked if they commit any crimes. Furthermore, it's intended for all characters to be able to enter the West Britain Bank rooftop hangout, even murderers. Combat is prevented from this space, as well as using the ladders/teleporters to the roof after engaging in combat, so there should be no concern about this. The Easter Egg hunt has commenced! Easter Egg Nests will be scattered throughout the overworld for you to find. Double click the eggs to try opening them for fun surprises and goodies! Monsters also have a chance to spawn as Easter Paragon which can also drop Easter carrots and goodies.
Collect Fabled Carrots to spend at the Easter Vendor who can be found on the Britain Bank Roof. They will also buy some of the items you may get from the eggs in exchange for more Fabled Carrots.
The Carrot & Egg Hunt will be live until April 24th and we will try our best to do some planned and/or spontaneous events throughout the week. The Easter vendor will be available until June 1st

From the 1st April 2023, we will no longer support Steam accounts. Those of you currently using them will get a message to that effect when logging into the game, directing you to this form:

The good news is we have a process now to transfer your Steam accounts to regular standalone accounts! April 1st is not the deadline for this, and we will continue to accept Steam transfer requests after that time - however note that you will not be able to log in using your Steam account from April 1st.
Please note that while you may have seen the form before, some of the fields have changed. Please review the form again and ensure we have details of both your existing Steam account, AND your new, clean, empty account with NO CHARACTERS to transfer it to.
Please also note we will ONLY be conducting these transfers for Steam accounts. It's a colossal amount of work, and not viable at this time to handle any other transfer requests.
As per the form, once you have submitted a transfer request, it may take a day or two to finalise as it needs to be done during the nightly maintenance window and relies on the availability of staff to do this. Please be patient with us during this time.
This will be the final step we need to take before we introduce our new features. Sound and music will be first off the rank early in April! We hope you're all looking forward to that as much as we are.

It's currently setup for players to post picture of their house decorations. Periodically, as you know, we run House Decoration Contests, and often the decorations go on display for a few weeks and then they get put into the Recycle Bin.
Let's change all that! From now on, we're going to encourage players to post their creations on the forum, at any time, even when we're not doing a contest.
You all put so much time and effort into designing your spaces, we want to make sure your work can be seen by all, and stays around indefinitely if you decide to change things later.
We will probably organize future House Decoration Contests on this forum as well to keep it all in a central place. Discord gets too crowded over time to hold everything, so we hope this works well.

Another update to our launcher has been released. This one lets you launch additional instances of the game from a right click context menu. Simply right click the SoB Launcher icon in your system tray (down near your clock, sound controls etc) and choose 'Launch' to launch another client.
As always, if you have any issues with the launcher automatically updating, or don't see the new menu after exiting and running it again, you can manually download the new launcher at https://cdn.shardsofbritannia.com/launcher/SoB_Launcher.exe - simply replace the copy in your game folder with the freshly downloaded copy and you're good to go!
