Happy New Year everyone!

This is a quick note to say that we do read each and every bit of feedback we get, whether it's a bug, a suggestion, or a report of player misconduct. However, as we are a team of volunteers that do this for free in our spare time, who all have lives and families, it is simply not possible to respond to all of the reports that we get (and there are many!). Please do remember that this is not a commercial server, and no one is paid to do what we do.

In particular, please be assured that we investigate every report of player misconduct and take them very seriously. When required, we take the appropriate action against those players. While it may not always be visible to you, please be assured we do action each and every one of these.

Lastly, we'd like to remind everyone that if you have concerns with any actions of staff, then the correct escalation path is to email [email protected] - once again, we cannot guarantee a response to any emails sent to this address, however be assured they are read and actioned as required.

Thank you all once again for your support, and we look forward to sharing with you all the new features we have planned for 2020!

There appears to be an issue with some or all in-game feedback reports (bug reports) not being received. We're looking into the issue. In the meantime you can use the Discord Feedback Bot to submit bugs, as those are still being received.

We would like to remind all players that, as per the rules you agreed to when first logging into our server, exploiting bugs/glitches etc is not allowed. In some cases, after a thorough investigation, the effect of a particular exploit may be so game breaking that we have no choice but to react with severe consequences to those players involved.

We do not take these decisions lightly, and of course we would prefer to avoid these situations at all costs. If you do encounter a bug that results in being exploitable, please do report via /bug in game and we will do our best to address it ASAP. Thank you for your understanding.

We are aware some folks have lost some house contents following the deployment of the 12/8 patch. We sincerely apologize for any losses that this caused. We do not take lost progress lightly and you should know that we're sorry it happened. We do our best to heavily test each change and take measures to prevent losses as best as possible. Occasionally unforseen circumstances do occur, and we normally do our best to recover from them. In this case we were unable to intercept the issue in time to perform a rollback and address it. We thank you for your support and understanding.

The server is now using the latest version of the LOA client. Please make sure to download the latest client to play.

There are a few known issues from this update:
- Covetous and Destard dungeons are purple/pink in appearance and have been disabled until we have had a chance to resolve
- Some trees/rocks may report "Too far", if you find that there are more than 'a couple' of these please let us know, but for the most part should be correct
- Trees that were previously hidden on plots may re-appear, please use a Tree Removal Shovel from an Architect vendor to try and hide it

Due to a union-related issue, Stable Masters are not able to sell any animals at this time. We hope the result of their strike is that they are remunerated fairly and equitably, and they can return to providing a service that we all appreciate very much in the near future.

Please be reminded that claiming to be a staff member of LoU or LOA when you are not is considered a violation of our rules under Communication and Player Conduct - Part 6 which is publicly visible at https://legendsofultima.gamepedia.com/Server_Rules -- if someone does not have the Staff role in Discord or does not appear in-game with a Yellow name and Counselor/Guild Master title then they are most likely not a staff member.

Also please be reminded that this is one of the reasons, for security, that we do not provide support via Discord. Please make sure to report suspected rule violations via an in-game page, or an email to [email protected] -- this is the only way to be sure you are speaking to a member of the LOU Team.

A quick note regarding the skill bonus that we have enabled post rollback - it is a 10% bonus on the base gain, so you won't see it reflected in skillgaindebug. The increase is already applied to the first percentage shown.

Further to our previous announcement, we have found the root cause for the data loss issue and implemented a hotfix. We expect to restore service shortly after this announcement.

Unfortunately, in order to address the issue, we need to perform a rollback. This is necessary in order to ensure data integrity moving forward, as ideally we want to maintain our 'no wipe' stance at all costs. We have considered all other options available to us at this time.

A quick timeline on both the downtime and the rollback are as follows:

-- An issue with data integrity was identified at approx. 10:30pm UTC/5:30pm EST -- LoU was taken offline to further investigate -- In order to address the issue, we have rolled back to approx 10:00am UTC/5:00am EST

We appreciate this is a significant loss of progress. Unfortunately these things can occur when a game is under heavy development such as we are. Investigations into the issue are still ongoing in order to track down and eliminate this type of issue moving forward.

We have enabled a skill gain increase on the server as a method of compensation. This will remain active until we determine that it is no longer necessary. Thank you once again for your patience.

Next Friday, Nov 8th, at a time to be determined, we will be applying a patch that will prevent players from moving/rotating locked down objects outside the bounds of their plot. At that time, an autofix will be applied detecting any pre-existing objects that are out of the plot bounds and moving them back inside the plot to a valid position. Please note that this may not neatly move objects and you may end up with breaks in fence lines if that occurs. Please take this time to analyze any decorations you may have extending past your plot bounds/lines and please move them back so that they are not overlapping.

Additionally, with the changes to lockdown location validation, we will also be adding the Ban List and Auto-Eject for plots. This will now properly track targets banned from a plot and prevent them from re-entering. A new tab to manage the bans has also been added to the plot menu. When a target is ejected from a plot, they are put near the mailbox, which is why it is important that we no longer have interconnected plots and over-extended decorations.

Since we are about to enter a new month, and with seeing the news of even more extreme weather and natural disasters happening around the globe every week, I wanted to remind everyone of our Vacation Hold policy.

If you are in any position where you cannot get to the game for an extended time, whether it be military deployment, natural disasters, or something else please reach out to us, and we can consider your request to put your house into a Vacation Hold to prevent it from decaying in the normal timeframe.

It has been brought to our attention that people are selling Pet Deeds with pets that have 200/200/200 stats. Please know that this is an exploit people have been abusing by casting Bless onto their pets and then deeding the pet. Do not buy these deeds as the pets will be auto-corrected soon back to the standard stats. Pet caching has also been disabled due to this.

We're streamlining our announcements, patch notes, known issues, and town crier news into a new system that will allow everyone to see them in Discord, in-game, on our webpage, and on the Wiki. This is in an effort to make sure we're always providing up-to-date information in all outlets.

Changes coming with this:
- You can view the news webpage at http://news.legendsofultima.online (mobile-friendly, save to homescreen to make an app shortcut)
- The in-game MOTD window has been replaced with the LOU News Feed that will popup on login unless you chose it not to; you can also use /news to open it, or double click a Town Crier
- Town Criers now have their own stream of news and they will only announce recent news, ignoring news that is too old. If no news is available, they will wait until fresh news comes in.
