Urgent: Legends of Aria is leaving Steam

Notice from July 2022

Legends of Aria recently announced that the game is being removed from Steam, but it remains listed at this time during a grace period to allow existing users time to move to standalone accounts.

New players should avoid Steam and use the normal standalone version of the game.

Existing Steam users please see the announcement posted in the LOA Discord for details on how to migrate your account from Steam to a standalone account.

Please note that Shards of Britannia staff has no control over the Steam migration process, please direct all concerns or questions to Legends of Aria staff.

Hello everyone! We are still working around the clock to meet our goals for the Britannia launch. We are still on track and expect to bring the servers online within a target timeframe on 6/20 between 7pm-8pm Eastern Time. This is still subject to change, and may ultimately happen earlier or later, but we will do our best to stick to this timeframe. We'll post again as we get closer and if anything changes. All town vendors have been made invulnerable for the time being while we work on updating their AI to be in line with Britannia-era combat mechanics and as such, they will be unavailable for snooping or thievery while invulnerable. Thanks for your patience while we continue to work on things

The Auto Stack or Stack All option(s) was removed before the Britannia launch, but some people still had it enabled after the transition, even though the option was removed.

This feature has caused several client\graphical glitches in the past for people as items are moved around or consumed very quickly. The feature has been disabled in favor of preventing multiple stacks from accumulating in the first place.

Please let us know if you run into a scenario where multiple stacks of similar items are being added to your backpack when you wouldn't expect them to, and we will work to optimize any remaining cases.

Secure Trading issues:

  • we've received several reports of players having to click Accept repeatedly until the trade finally accepts

Corpse Looting issues:

  • we're aware that many or all corpses are not appearing when attempting to open them and the best-known workaround is to use the Loot All context option

Pet Commanding issue:

  • we're aware of an issue with pets not engaging in combat again as expected after being idle; best-known workaround is to say All Stop and then try your commands again

We are beginning to restore services and will be back online shortly. Thank you for bearing with us. We have extra elements in play now to mitigate any further attacks.

We expect a small rollback as we come back online. These are inevitable in these types of scenarios due to the state of world saves and must be done to ensure integrity of our data.

Firstly, thank you all for your patience during this trying time. During this last window of the game being online, we were working closely with our hosting provider to identify further options for mitigation of the DDoS attacks that we are experiencing, beyond what was already implemented. We are now working with them to enable what is necessary.

Please note that this may take some time, and at this time, we will not be bringing the server online again until these steps are in place.

Also please note that we are not going to discuss the mitigations we are putting in place in any way. That would be detrimental to our cause. Rest assured that we know what our next steps are and we'll continue to work through what needs to be done to eliminate this threat.

Thank you once again, and we hope to return to service as soon as we can. There is no ETA at this time, however we do expect this process to take at least 1-2 days. As always, keep an eye on #news for any further updates.

The servers are offline for the time being while we prepare for the transition process. Some of you have reported persistent issues with being unable to fully update the game client using the LOA Launcher. At this time, if the troubleshooting steps outlined here: https://forums.legendsofultima.online/d/46-legends-of-aria-launcher-troubleshooting do not help, then we would normally advise users to download the client using the "Problems with the launcher? Click here" link on the download page, but the latest build has not been published there yet. We apologize for the inconvenience and are working with CS to get it published as quickly as possible for those affected. Thank you for your patience

As stated in our previous announcement https://legendsofultima.online/news/the-conclusion-of-celador Celador will be shutting down within the next 24 hours, and access to any remaining characters, items, and houses left in Celador will be lost.

We are aware some people have had issues going through the transition portal in Inbetween, so if you have any characters already in the Inbetween region, you will not lose access to them. We will work with those remaining on a case-by-case basis to get all stuck characters' transitions completed.

There is no specific time for the shutdown to occur yet, as it is subject to staff availability, but we will post again once we know more. Thanks!

The transition to Britannia is almost complete! Britannia has been live since June 20th, 2021 and the new world is thriving!

There are still some of you who have not made the transfer yet. Don't worry, you still have some time. Celador will remain online until August 1, 2021, we will share a more definite timeframe as we get closer.

In the meantime, please make sure you transfer any remaining characters to Britannia. After Celador shuts down, any remaining characters, houses, and items in the world will not be accessible.

Through the transition process, we have found an extreme amount of abandoned characters and accounts that people have not logged into for years. This presents an opportunity for us to clean up the bloat and increase performance by eliminating stale characters and items.

We've made the difficult decision to proceed with the Celador shutdown and purging old characters, to de-bloat the character database.

We understand that some people may not have had a chance to come back to LOU, so please make sure you tell your friends and family that had previously played but have not come back yet.
