Frozen Tundra is now open! Throughout the rest of the month creatures spawned in the Frozen Tundra will have a chance to drop Winter Event collectibles. There will be new monsters, mini-champs and champs to contend with. New armour and weapons to collect as well as dozens of new collectible items.
The region will be open indefinitely and is housing-enabled allowing players to place houses. Soon we will be adding the new snowy house models provided by LOA!

But what about Britannia?! Well don't worry we haven't lost focus on the new map, as the team has been working steadily on that as well. We are pleased to announce that Legends of Ultima will be launching our 2020 Winter Event this Sunday 13th December at 11:00am EST
The event this year is different to previous years and we are proud to announce that we will be opening the Frozen Tundra for our players to enjoy.
There will be new monsters, mini-champs and champs to contend with. New armour and weapons to collect as well as dozens of new collectable items to aquire. There are a few more surprises and more details will follow in the next few days but there will certainly be lots to keep you busy during the holiday period.

- An issue with Discordance being prevented from applying to some mobs erroneously has been resolved
- Bard effect break range has been increased moderately to extend the distance allowed from mobs before the effects will break
- An issue with monsters attacking the bard after being provoked should be completely resolved now, once monsters have been provoked they should no longer attack the bard at all, unless the effect breaks, let us know if this continues to be an issue
- Patch Note Correction: The prior patch notes state that Provo/Peace will fall off if the bard dies, that was a typo and monsters should remain peaced/provo'd even if the bard dies, as long as they stay within range.
- Clarification: Discordance does not have range check or hiding check, it only falls off after the timer ends.

- Nightsight has been optimized and should provide the brightest daylight while using it, and it should persist through logouts and region transfers
- Nightsight will now end and prevent stormy weather while under the effect
- Nightsight duration has been reduced from 60+ minutes to 20 minutes max
- Note: Dungeons are still not equipped with Suns and thus Nightsight still does not help inside Dungeons

General fixes and changes:
- An issue with gravedigging monsters sometimes becoming frozen and defenseless has been optimized, let us know if it continues
- Mounts will now have invisibility broken when being mounted
- You can no longer use the mount command to mount an invisible pet
- You can no longer use objects inside of locked containers, including attempting to equip objects or use/count/stack resources from locked containers
- Lockboxes are now lockpickable
- Locked containers can now be locked down, previously would say "cannot lockdown locked containers"
- Town vendors will now properly round their inventory numbers while restocking to prevent decimals, and rounding has been added to the "Set" input in the Sell window
Door Improvements:
- An issue with monsters being thrown outside the dungeon walls when a door closes has been resolved, mobs should now be moved appropriately in front of the door if they manage to get stuck in the doorway
- Doors will no longer close while a live being is obstructing the doorway, up to a limit, if the door has auto-close it will force-close after 2 minutes
- Door obstruction checks are currently only setup for dungeon doors, as this is where we have the most problem, this functionality will eventually be normal behavior for every door in LOU

Welcome to May everyone!
Just want to drop by and give all of our dedicated supporters a big round of applause and thank you for continuing to support the project! In the past month we have been working on optimizing our infrastructure to prepare for the future, and we have also spent a lot of time cumulatively working towards the rest of our goals in the push to Britannia. Thanks to everyone that has helped with testing and participating in Test Center events. We'll keep working our hardest and hope to keep making you proud.
We know a lot of you are waiting to find out more about what to expect with the map change and many other changes coming with it, and we appreciate your patience while we continue to work all of that out. Thanks for being with us and remaining patient through our growth!

- An issue preventing criminal timer from being refreshed during PVP combat has been resolved
- Line-of-sight requirement for NPCs to call guards has been disabled for Stealing; normally the NPCs in town would wander around and change their perspective, making theiving more challenging and rewarding in some cases, but at this time the NPCs are set to not-wander, so we're doing this to balance in-town thefts until NPC wander has been re-enabled.

We are aware some folks have lost some house contents following the deployment of the 12/8 patch. We sincerely apologize for any losses that this caused. We do not take lost progress lightly and you should know that we're sorry it happened. We do our best to heavily test each change and take measures to prevent losses as best as possible. Occasionally unforseen circumstances do occur, and we normally do our best to recover from them. In this case we were unable to intercept the issue in time to perform a rollback and address it. We thank you for your support and understanding.

Bola Revert
- The most recent Bola changes have been reverted.
- This reduces the success chance to hit the target from 100% back to 66%.
- This also increases the cooldowns from 6s back to 10s.
Plot Deco Changes
- Can no longer decorate locked down objects rotating or moving them outside of the plot bounds.
- Items that are detected out of the bounds will be automatically moved back inside the plot.
- There is now a reasonable min/max limit on lowering/raising objects on a plot.
- NOTE: An autofix has occurred that checked all objects on plots to be out of bounds and has automatically moved offending items inwards towards the plot so not to be extending out of bounds; because of this, some of your decorations or fence pieces may need to be re-positioned.
- GARDENING NOTE: Plants from gardening now require users to be at least friend to use/harvest the plants due to the deco autofix.
Ban List
- Targets that are banned are now prevented from re-entering the plot automatically.
- New tab in the Plot Menu has been added to manage Bans.
Smelting, Milling, Scissors
- Salvaging has been redesigned from scratch to be more like UO.
- You should be able to salvage anything that can be crafted.
- To Smelt something simply double click a forge -OR- use the E ability on a Pickaxe.
- To Mill/Chop something use the E ability on a Hatchet.
- To cut cloth objects, use a pair of scissors.
- You can now salvage items that are on the ground, in your pack animal, or in your inventory, as long as you have access to pick it up.
- You can now salvage items bought from a town vendor, but will receive a greatly reduced amount of resources from them, and no chance to gain skill.
- You can now automatically attempt to salvage objects inside of a container, just target a container or yourself to choose backpack.
- Wooden & Wood Kite shields have been moved to Carpentry recipes and now use wood to craft and are salvageable.
Repairing
- Repairing of equipment will now be done via the crafting menu.
- Applicable crafting stations now have a "Repair" button in their menu.
Disguise Kits
- Thief Disguise Kit & Orc Body Kits have been optimized and should work much more reliably.
- Orc Body Kit is now blessed.
- Orc Body Kit will no longer become locked down on use.
Skinning
- Skinning has been redesigned from scratch to be more like UO.
- All bladed weapons and the skinning knife can be used to:
- cut corpses to instantly create the meat/hides inside the corpse.
- cut whole fish, on the ground or in our inventory, into fish fillets.
- Bladed weapons have "Toggle Default" option to set the default double-click action:
- Use: double click and target something to skin.
- Equip: double click to equip the weapon.
- Right-clicking a corpse, choosing harvest will check your inventory recursively for a blade to use to skin it.
Treasure Hunting
- Players will now be required to kill all monsters spawned from a treasure chest before being able to loot from the chest.

Next Friday, Nov 8th, at a time to be determined, we will be applying a patch that will prevent players from moving/rotating locked down objects outside the bounds of their plot. At that time, an autofix will be applied detecting any pre-existing objects that are out of the plot bounds and moving them back inside the plot to a valid position. Please note that this may not neatly move objects and you may end up with breaks in fence lines if that occurs. Please take this time to analyze any decorations you may have extending past your plot bounds/lines and please move them back so that they are not overlapping.
Additionally, with the changes to lockdown location validation, we will also be adding the Ban List and Auto-Eject for plots. This will now properly track targets banned from a plot and prevent them from re-entering. A new tab to manage the bans has also been added to the plot menu. When a target is ejected from a plot, they are put near the mailbox, which is why it is important that we no longer have interconnected plots and over-extended decorations.
