Shards of Britannia is now FREE to play! Create your account and play today.

  • All graveyards have had their spawns altered so that you won't get completely swarmed by the undead
    - Mage broker pricing/quantities fixed
  • The chance for bandages to slip during movement has been removed
    - The chance for bandages to cure being reduced during slips has been removed
  • Quick update for Boglings, who now drop seeds depending on their difficulty.
    - The Boglings outside Britain have slowly gathered closer to a Mossy Rock formation farther away from the Guards line of sight, and Strong Boglings spawn there now.
  • Mage vendors now sell a limited supply of empty bottles for alchemy to save you getting sand in your... bags.
  • Added new effect to Bless spell, so that keeping Dispel Resistance active on a Summon has a visual indicator.
    - Tweaked the Nightsight effects to not conflict with new Bless effects.
    - Cunning, Strength, and Agility spells now remove Bless correctly, so PVP Players can remove the Dispel blocking effect on a Player Summon by buffing them first with Cunning/Strength/Agility and then immediately casting Dispel on the Summon. Mob AI will never buff a Player Summon so this mechanic is designed for PVP, and to mitigate Dispel Blocking Summoned armies in PVP.
    - All Magery Buffs at GM Magery can now last up to 5 minutes.
    - All Mage Vendors now stock 250 of each Reagent, as the Gardening market ramps up.
    - All Casting Monsters will now drop Rare Seeds, where stronger Casting Monsters have more drops and in larger quantities.
    - All Treasure Chests now drop all Seeds, and more difficult chests drop more and in higher qualities.
    - Using Take Soil can gain Gardening skill up to 30.
    - Using Take Soil over 50 Gardening gives you multiple clumps of soil!
    - 15 bread, whether purchased from an NPC, or made with the Create Food spell, will fill you entirely. However, Garden produce and Cooked food fill you up in about 5 - 6 bites.
    - Hunger currently takes about 6+ in-game hours to reveal a Hungry state and an additional 2+ hours to enter Starvation mode Debuff Stats. Eating until you are completely stuffed each time you get Hungry is best.
    - New GM Gardening Perk, your Harvest Range will increase to 1 - 12 from the standard 1 - 5.
    - Fixed a few bugs and corrected some wording within Gardening system.
    - Fixed some bugs with Fresh Ingredients not showing the correct graphic.
    - Some QOL improvements to Fishing, making it more obvious when you can cast again.

  • Shovels now have a Toggle Default option when you right click them to choose which option you want the shovel to do when you use it. This change is retroactive and all pre-existing shovels will be switched to Dig automatically. Please use the new option to change it to Garden if you would like to.

    - Slightly increased the chance that you will anger a beast when attempting to tame it to be more in line with UO
  • The Magic Broker with cheaper prices and greater quantities has arrived in Moonglow's mage shop.
    - Enchanting items can be sold to Mages and the Magic Broker.
  • (the completed) Gardening Broker with cheaper prices and greater quantities has arrived in Ocllo.
  • Garden Bag Price Reduced to 2k from 10k.
    - All Rare Seeds Removed From Garden Bag, and currently Rare Seeds cannot be purchased from NPCs.
    - Stanis O' Mathis has entered Bucs Den selling Gardening Supplies.
  • An issue has been resolved with items for sale on a player vendor not allowing account owners to use or see the options Change Price and Remove From Sale
    - An issue has been resolved with Notoriety not being confirmed or punished for splitting stacks from player corpses
    - A recipe has been added to Fletching for Arrows that can be made using Kindling
  • The wagon to Minoc has been moved from Moonglow to Magincia (half way between Magincia Mines and Helm's Crossroads to the south-west of Magincia)
    - Fisherman's Wharf is now only accessible from Vesper's docks (not Cove, Papua or Ocllo), and only goes back to Vesper at this time.
    - The teleporter from Magincia's very old rune library to Moonglow ridge has been removed.
    - The ladder from Moonglow ridge to Moonglow's mage shop has been taken down.
    - The wagon from Britain to Riverside has left.
    - The wagons from Riverside's north to Riverside's south have both left.
    - The wagons from Moonglow to north Magincia and back have broken down and are no longer in service.
  • Ocllo field now spawns twice as many wheat plants
    - The farmers in Ocllo's fields have put up a signpost so they could tell the wheat and cotton apart (but you can hold CTRL while in the field)

  • Bless Spell now prevents Dispel on Magery Summoned Creatures.
    - This was a player recommended enhancement, as so many caster creatures cast Dispel often.
    - If Players keep their Bless Buffs cycled nicely on their Mage Summons, then the Dispel spell is completely nullified in battle, but if the Bless Buff drops, your summon will be Dispelled as normal.
  • Rare Seeds were placed inside Garden Bags on the Garden Vendors by mistake.
    - These will be removed by end of day today, so stock up before they are gone!
    - As a reminder, Rare Seeds drops from stronger magical creatures, off Fishing mobs, and inside Treasure Chests.
    - We will continue to monitor drop rates, and expand them if we feel not enough Rare Seeds are in the world.
    - As another measure, we may consider selling Rare Seeds at Garden Vendor again for high prices, but this would be after trying to alter loot tables initially.
  • Create Food spell now provides very minimal hunger restoration compared to very effective garden produce.
    - Grow rates from Seedling to Full Grown Plant are now 6 hours, down from 24 hours at launch (subject to change).
    - Plants atop their Garden Beds now give you the ability to Examine Plant (this will have future expanded information), as well as Destroy Plant.
    - Added the Gardening Scythe tool to Royal Gardener Walter O' Mathis at Lord British's Castle inside Britain, which can clear away grass inside your plot, making it far easier to tend your Gardens. The Gardening Scythe can also Kill Plants within your garden without having to interact with the Plant or Garden Bed.
    - All of these changes will be fully available after the next server restart.
  • An issue has been resolved preventing players from dragging a button from the skill window to the hot bar
    - An issue has been resolved with corpses being teleported off of plots automatically

All cities and parts of the world have been getting some specialisation recently and more is to come.
- The sewers in Britain has been dramatically reduced in size and spawns.
- The sewers now connects to a teleporter near the mage shop in Papua, allowing either end to be equally accessible.
- Ocllo is set to become the farming capital of the world, and now has a cotton and wheat field to the south, a beekeeper, and will soon see more changes now that Gardening has been introduced.
- Magincia, city of pride, is becoming recognised as a centre of trade, and Crazy Carl has moved in and is willing to buy some new rare bits and pieces. He's still won't sell you anything.
- The guards around Nujel'm and Moonglow have managed to tighten their borders against the threat of hostile creatures surrounding their cities.
- All reagents can now be found in various parts of the world, depending on the reagent (see the Magery page on the wiki for locations)
- Signposts in the wilderness have been labelled. We might have missed a few, so page if you find one with names that don't look right or without names at all.
- Buccaneer's Den is not as crowded as it used to be, and many of the pirates that used to roam the place have left.

  • Plants should now scale correctly, but won't take effect until new plants are created.
    - Seed Salvage should now properly fire when the plant is consumed.
    - Shovel range for Dig/Thunters should be restored.
    - Grow rates have been reduced to half a day, instead of a full day, as an experiment (Subject to change)
